These past months, Matt and I personally have received letters and thanks from families who have been helped by The Attic. These notes encourage and remind us why we continue on in this mission but ultimately, the thanks needs to go to YOU. To the 15 churches that have gone out of their way to support families, provided volunteers at The Hub, and partner on various projects. To the close relationships formed with child welfare organizations and the 4 foundations that have supplied grants for beds, car seats, home safety items, and operations. To our faithful donors who keep our doors open. Your giving has brought hope to children and families in the Permian Basin. We tell people often that not everyone is called to foster or adopt, but everyone is called to do something. When you volunteer your time, you are raising awareness while supporting our work and making everyone’s burden lighter.
When you share at your small group or host a drive at your church you are putting the problem in front of people who may have never known. When you give a bag of clothes, you are bringing a smile to a small girl's face who just wanted that sparkly dress.
And when you give, you keep our doors open. Open to CPS workers trying to support their families, open to struggling moms and dads trying to stay on their feet, open to foster families who have taken on so much and need the support that is hard to find.
