Foster System 101

So you have heard about the system but you don't know what that means? 
Start here to get the basics figured out.

  • The Texas foster care system is under the Department of Family and Protective Service (DFPS)

​

  • DFPS break the state up into regions. The Permian Basin is in Region 9

​

  • Region 9 has 30 counties

  • Leadership comes from the main offices in Ector, Midland, and Tom Green County. 

  • Each of those offices report to the office in El Paso (Region 10)
